Privacy Policy
Effective 29 August 2026 · Gateboard, by kayzen apps
What we don't collect
- No name, email, or account — the app has no sign-up.
- No location. The app never requests location permission.
- No advertising or analytics SDKs. No crash-reporting SDKs. Zero third-party trackers.
- Our servers keep no request logs, no browsing history, and no personal identifiers.
What the app sends to our servers
- A random device identifier. Generated on your device and stored in its keychain. We use it to rate-limit requests, to count the free-trial boards, and — via RevenueCat — to verify a Gateboard Pro subscription without an account. It is random, and neither we nor RevenueCat can link it to you.
- Usage records. Our server keeps, keyed to that identifier: the number of free-trial boards used, and whether the device has an active Pro subscription (with its expiry date). Nothing else — no browsing history of which boards you view.
- Followed flights. If you follow a flight for landing alerts, we store the flight number, arrival airport, schedule time, and your device's push token until the flight lands — at most 16 hours, then it is deleted automatically.
- Your IP address. It reaches our server with every request, exactly as it does with any website. We use it for one purpose: refusing abusive request volumes. It is used in memory and never stored, logged, or linked to your device identifier.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate subscription state under the random device identifier above; RevenueCat notifies our server when a subscription starts, renews, or expires so Pro works without an account. We never see your payment details.
Flight data
Live flight information comes from Avinor (Norwegian airports, under NLOD 2.0) and AeroDataBox (worldwide, under a paid commercial licence). Your requests to our server are proxied to these providers without any identifying information.
We keep no archive of flight history. Provider responses are cached for a few minutes to cut load and cost, then discarded. Our data licences require that, and holding old boards would serve you nothing.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to export or correct. Unfollowing a flight, or the flight landing, deletes its stored entry. If you have any question about your data, contact us and we will answer plainly.
